My Story
Hello! My name is Kay. Here is some more information on how I became a pet sitter. The short version of the story is that my dear kitty friend passed away in 2022 and pet sitting became a huge part of my healing process. We spent a solid seventeen years together. There were trying times where the vets told me that I would have to put him down but I refused! He was only six years old when his chronic health issues surfaced. We made it through multiple surgeries together and after that, I was able to manage his symptoms with a strict diet and lots of love! He was my soul kitty. Losing him truly broke my heart.
While I wasn't ready for a new companion at home, I still missed the companionship of an animal. I applied with Seattle Animal Shelter to become a foster mom. It took about a month before my application was approved. During that time period though, I ended up joining a platform for house and pet sitting. Let's be real! My house would become a zoo if I fostered animals. I would absolutely become a foster fail! In my heart of hearts, I would want to save each and every one of them. Pet sitting seemed like the best option for me, so I went with it.
Since joining the one platform, I've been adding more and more avenues to spend time with more and more animals. I've used many of the popular platforms for dogs, cats and house sitting. It's been so great getting to know all the animals and their parents! I also appreciate the word of mouth referrals from friends and my existing clients. Since I've been going strong all these years, I figured I might as well start a business. I have my soul kitty to thank for the inspiration! I am grateful for all of the gifts that he gave me along with the precious memories during our time together. I am also looking forward to making some new furry friends!
